TRAFFIC STOP, DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS – ARIAN NICOLE WIGGINS
PIERRE PART – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Arian Nicole Wiggins, 27, of 723 Teche Road, Morgan City, LA, on multiple felony charges arising from a traffic stop in Pierre Part late Saturday.
A uniformed patrol deputy observed a westbound vehicle commit a traffic violation on LA 70 and executed a stop of that vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver now identified as Arian Nicole Wiggins. The deputy initiated an officer / violator interview and determined that Wiggins did not possess a valid Louisiana driver’s license. The deputy noted a strong odor of alcohol emitting from the person of Arian Nicole Wiggins. The deputy further noted a strong odor of suspected marijuana emitting from the suspect vehicle.
The suspect, Arian Nicole Wiggins performed poorly on standardized field sobriety tests.
At the conclusion of the interview process, a search was conducted of the suspect vehicle which resulted in the seizure of multiple controlled dangerous substances.
At the conclusion of the investigation, Arian Nicole Wiggins was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Sale, Distribution, or Possession of Legend Drugs without a Prescription or Order
*Possession of Adderall
*Possession of Xanax (Alprazolam)
*Possession of Marijuana
*Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated
*Driving on Roadway Laned for Traffic
*Possession of Alcoholic Beverages in a Motor Vehicle
*Expired Motor Vehicle Inspection Tag
Arian Nicole Wiggins was transported to a local healthcare facility where a blood draw was conducted for testing purposes. Arian Nicole Wiggins remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
