TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS – BOBBY JOE BLAKE, ANTHONY JUNOR BENOIT
LABADIEVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrests of Bobby Joe Blake, 36, of 118 Elm Hall, Napoleonville, LA, and Anthony Junor Benoit, 30, of 2559 Highway 308, Labadieville, LA, on felony drug charges arising from a traffic stop on LA 1014 north of Labadieville on Tuesday evening.
A uniformed patrol deputy observed a vehicle with an equipment violation southbound on LA 308 near the LA 1010 Bridge and attempted a stop of that vehicle. The suspect vehicle disregarded the deputy and continued on in an attempt to flee. The deputy pursued the vehicle and observed items being tossed from the vehicle.
The suspect vehicle turned east onto LA 1014 and continued on for a significant distance. At some point the vehicle stopped and the driver and passenger exited the vehicle.
Deputies were able to locate the items thrown from the vehicle. Deputies recovered marijuana, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Bobby Joe Blake and Anthony Junor Benoit were both arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges as follows:
-As to Bobby Joe Blake, he was booked on counts of:
*Possession of Methamphetamine
*Possession of Marijuana
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
*Flight from an Officer
*Tail Lights Required
*Fugitive Warrant – Terrebonne Parish
Bobby Joe Blake remains incarcerated with bond set at $30,000.
-As to Anthony Junor Benoit, he was booked on counts of:
*Possession of Methamphetamine
*Possession of Marijuana
*Detainer – Probation / Parole Violation
Anthony Junor Benoit remains incarcerated with bond set at $15,000 on the drug charges and was ordered held without bond on the Probation / Parole violation.
