TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS – MIRANDA ROSE BROWN and BRANDON MATTHEW STEELE

LABADIEVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrests of Brandon Matthew Steele, 42, of 6053 Bayou Black Road, Houma, LA, and Miranda Rose Brown, 33, of 115 Elaine Street, Bayou L’Ourse, LA, on felony drug charges arising from a traffic stop on LA 398 on Thursday evening.

A narcotics agent observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation and initiated a stop of that vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver now identified as Miranda Rose Brown and engaged Brown in an officer / violator interview. The deputy noted a pungent odor of suspected marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Miranda Rose Brown was driving under a suspended driver’s license and the vehicle she was operating had a switched license plate

The deputy then interviewed the passenger now identified as Brandon Matthew Steele. At the conclusion of the interview, the deputy believed additional investigation was warranted. The deputy requested and was granted consent to search the vehicle.

During the search process, deputies seized methamphetamine and multiple doses of clonazepam.

Miranda Rose Brown was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Possession of Methamphetamine
*Possession of Clonazepam
*No Liability Insurance
*Driving Under a Suspended Driver’s License
*Switched License Plate

Miranda Rose Brown remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.

Brandon Matthew Steele was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Possession of Methamphetamine
*Possession of Clonazepam
