TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS

PIERRE PART – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Kayla Elizabeth Adams, 38, of 117 Timothy Street, Pierre Part, LA, on drug law violations following a traffic stop by the Sheriff’s I.C.E. Unit on Friday afternoon.

An I.C.E. assigned officer observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation near LA 70 and Derrick Street, and conducted an investigative stop.

The deputy made contact with and interviewed the driver. The deputy then interviewed the passenger, now identified as Kayla Elizabeth Adams. During the interview, the deputy noted several suspicious actions by Adams.

At some point, the deputy requested and was granted consent to search the vehicle.

During that process, a quantity of meth-amphetamine and paraphernalia was recovered and attributed to Adams.

Kayla Elizabeth Adams was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Possession of Meth-Amphetamine
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Adams was incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
