TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS

PAINCOURTVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Gerrel G. Talbert, 26, of 200 Sparrow Street, Labadieville, LA, on felony drug charges following a traffic stop near Paincourtville on Wednesday.

A uniformed patrol officer observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation and proceeded to stop the vehicle.

The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Gerrel G. Talbert and noted Talbert to act in a nervous manner. The deputy conducted a pat down search of the person of Gerrel G. Talbert and at that time, located drug paraphernalia and a quantity of heroin.

Gerrel G. Talbert was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Driving with a Suspended License
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
*Possession of Heroin

Talbert remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
