TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS
TURISTIAN D. LIGHTFOOT
NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Turistian D. Lightfoot, 24, of 1010 St. Vincent Street, Donaldsonville, LA, on felony drug charges following a traffic stop on Saturday morning.
A uniformed patrol deputy observed a northbound vehicle traveling through Napoleonville commit a traffic violation.
The vehicle was stopped and contact was made with the driver, now identified as Turistian D. Lightfoot. It was determined that Lightfoot’s drivers license was suspended and he was wanted on a fugitive warrant from Ascension Parish.
Deputies noted a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. A K-9 was summoned to the scene. The K-9 gave a positive alert on the vehicle. The vehicle was searched and a substantial quantity of marijuana and drug paraphernalia was seized as well as U.S. currency.
Turistian D. Lightfoot was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Illegal Window Tint
*Driving Under Suspension
*Stop Lamps and Turn Signals Required
*Expired Motor Vehicle Inspection Tag
*Transactions Involving Proceeds from Controlled Dangerous Substance Activity
*Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Turistian D. Lightfoot was incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
Lightfoot also faces a fugitive warrant from Ascension Parish.
