TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS

AMELIA – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Jovian Jerome Clark, 39, of 168 Friendship Alley, Amelia, La., on multiple felony drug law violations following a traffic stop in Amelia on Wednesday.
A patrol deputy observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation and initiated a stop of the vehicle.
The deputy made contact with the driver and at some point, grew suspicious of the actions of a rear seat passenger, now identified as Jovian Jerome Clark.
During the process of interviewing Clark, deputies determined that Clark was a wanted fugitive from St. Mary Parish.
During a pat down search incidental to arrest, Clark was found to be in possession of controlled dangerous substances in violation of the law.
Jovian Jerome Clark was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Fugitive (St. Mary Parish)
*Resisting an Officer
*Taking Contraband to/from a Penal Institution
*Possession with Intent to Distribute MDMA (Ecstasy)
*Possession of Alprazolam (Xanax)
*Possession of Marijuana (2nd Offense)
Jovian Jerome Clark is currently incarcerated with a bond set at $65,000.
