TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS

AMELIA – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Dale Michael Ray Moore, 42, of 816 Margaret Avenue, Rayne, LA, on felony drug charges arising out of a Saturday evening traffic stop near Amelia.
A uniformed patrol deputy observed a vehicle on U.S. 90 commit a traffic violation. The deputy initiated a stop of the violator vehicle and made contact with the driver, now identified as Dale Michael Ray Moore. The deputy interviewed the driver and made observation indicative of illegal drug activity. The deputy thought that the matter warranted further investigation.
The deputy summoned a K-9 to the stop location. The K-9 conducted an open-air sniff and alerted to particular areas of the vehicle.
A subsequent search of the suspect vehicle resulted in the seizure of a quantity of meth-amphetamine.
Dale Michael Ray Moore was arrested and booked into the parish detention center on charges of:
*Possession of Meth-Amphetamine
*Driving on Right Side of Roadway
*Expired Motor Vehicle Inspection Tag
*Head Lamps Required
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia in the Presence of Persons Under the Age of 17
Dale Michael Ray Moore remains incarcerated with bond set at $20,000.
