TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS

PLATTENVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Stephanie Chiasson Ross, 45, of 207 Hesper Drive, Carencro, LA, on felony charges following a traffic stop on LA 1 near Michael Street in Plattenville on Monday evening.

A uniformed patrol deputy observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation and initiated a stop of that vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Stephanie Chiasson Ross and conducted an officer / violator interview.

During a walk around of the vehicle, the deputy noted a fraudulent inspection sticker as well as an altered license tag.

At the conclusion of the interview, an inventory of the vehicle was conducted at which time a quantity of methamphetamine was seized.

Stephanie Chiasson Ross was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Possession of Methamphetamine
*Obstruction of Justice
*Expired Motor Vehicle Inspection Tag
*Insurance Required
*Use of Multi-Beam Road Lighting Equipment

Stephanie Chiasson Ross remains incarcerated with bond set at $16,000.
