TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS

PAINCOURTVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Russell Paul Medine, Jr., 34, of 34354 Waguespack Road, Donaldsonville, LA, on felony charges arising out of a traffic stop near Paincourtville on Saturday morning.
A uniformed patrol deputy observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation and initiated a stop of that vehicle.
The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Russell Paul Medine, Jr.
The deputy conducted an interview of the driver and at some point, he concluded that further investigation was warranted.
The deputy utilized his K-9 and conducted an open-air sniff of the vehicle. The K-9 alerted positive to the presence of illegal drugs.
A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Russell Paul Medine, Jr. was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of Methamphetamine
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
*Driving under a Suspended Driver’s License
*Illegal Window Tint
Russell Paul Medine, Jr. was incarcerated and released on a 15,000 bond.
