TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS – FELONY ARRESTS
I.C.E. ARRESTS – WAYNE D. MEADS, MORGAN J. LAKE

LABADIEVILLE– Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrests of Wayne D. Meads, 45 of 124 Bon Villa Court, Gray, La., and Morgan Jennifer Lake, 30, of 2040 Lafiton Lane, Port Allen, La., on felony drug charges arising from a traffic incident on LA. 308 North of Labadieville on Tuesday evening.

A uniformed patrol deputy assigned to the I.C.E. Detail observed a vehicle with an equipment violation and executed a stop of that vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver now identified as Wayne D. Meads. The deputy engaged Meads in an officer / violator interview. During the interview Meads became non-compliant. The deputy conducted a protective pat down search of Meads and did seize a quantity of methamphetamine and assorted drug paraphernalia.

The deputy then interviewed the passenger now identified as Morgan J. Lake. At the conclusion of Lake’s interview, the deputy believed additional investigation was warranted. The deputy requested and was granted consent to search the vehicle. During the search process, deputies seized multiple doses of the drug suboxone.

Wayne D. Meads and Morgan J. Lake were arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center as follows:
*Wayne D. Meads was charged on counts of:
– Possession of Methamphetamine
– Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
– Resisting an Officer
– Failure to Display a Valid License Plate
– Temporary Registration Plate – Altered or Expired

*Morgan J. Lake was charged on a count of:
– Possession of Suboxone

-Probation/Parole Detainer

Morgan J. Lake was ordered held without bond on the Probation/Parole Detainer and bond on the Suboxone charge was set at $25,000.
Wayne Deshaun Meads remains incarcerated with his bond set at $76,500.
