TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS, FUGITIVE
BENJAMINE JOSEPH LANDRY, DANIELLE LANDRY BARBIER
BELLE RIVER – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrests of Benjamine Joseph Landry, 40, of 129 Maryann Street, Pierre Part, LA and Danielle Landry Barbier, 35, of LA Hwy. 70, Pierre Part, LA, on multiple felony charges arising from a Sunday evening traffic stop near Belle River.
A uniformed patrol deputy observed a westbound vehicle near Belle River and initiated a stop of that vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Danielle Landry Barbier and conducted an officer / violator interview. The deputy conducted a criminal records check on all occupants including Benjamine Joseph Landry. The return indicated that Benjamine Joseph Landry was wanted as a fugitive for Livingston Parish.
Upon completing the officer / violator interviews, the deputy concluded that additional investigation was warranted. The deputy requested and was granted consent to search the suspect vehicle.
During the search process, quantities of methamphetamine and assorted drug paraphernalia was seized.
Both Danielle Landry Barbier and Benjamine Joseph Landry were arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center as follows:

*Possession of Methamphetamine
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
*Illegal Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substances in the Presence of Persons Under 17 Years of Age
*Fugitive – Livingston Parish
– As to Danielle Landry Barbier:
*Possession of Methamphetamine
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
*Illegal Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substances in the Presence of Persons Under 17 Years of Age
*Failure to Dim High Beam Lighting
Danielle Landry Barbier remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
