TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS – I.C.E. ARREST – DEMARCUS RAY GAUTHIER
BELLE ROSE– Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Demarcus Ray Gauthier, 43, of 709 McGinnis Street, Donaldsonville, LA, on felony drug charges arising from a traffic stop in Belle Rose early Thursday morning.
A uniformed patrol deputy assigned to the I.C.E. detail observed a vehicle with an equipment violation and executed a stop of that vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver and engaged the driver now identified as Demarcus Ray Gauthier into an officer / violator interview. The deputy noted that the vehicle had a switched license plate. As the interview concluded, the deputy believed additional investigation was warranted. The deputy requested and was granted consent to search the suspect vehicle. During the search process, deputies seized quantities of Suboxone and Alprazolam (Xanax).
Demarcus Ray Gauthier was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of Suboxone
*Possession of Alprazolam (Xanax)
*Switched License Plate
*Illegal Window Tint
*No Seat Belt
*Driving Under a Suspended Driver’s License
Demarcus Ray Gauthier remains incarcerated with bond set at $100,000.
