TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS, I.C.E ARREST
ARTHUR HOLMES, III
PAINCOURTVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Arthur Holmes, III, 62, of 118 Pecan Street, Bertrandville, LA, on felony drug charges arising from a traffic stop in the area of LA 403 and King Street in Paincourtville on Wednesday evening.
A uniformed patrol deputy assigned to the I.C.E. detail observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation and executed a stop of that vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver now identified as Arthur Holmes, III and engaged Holmes in an officer / violator interview. At the conclusion of that interview, the deputy conducted a protective pat down search of the suspect. During that search, a quantity of suspected crack cocaine was seized from the person of Arthur Holmes, III.
A K-9 was utilized to conduct an open-air sniff of the vehicle and alerted positive for the presence of controlled dangerous substances. During a search of the vehicle, deputies seized an open container of alcohol.
At the conclusion of the investigation, Arthur Holmes, III, was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of Crack Cocaine
*Possession of Alcoholic Beverages in a Motor Vehicle
*Expired Motor Vehicle Inspection Tag
*Turning Movements and Required Signals
Arthur Holmes, III was incarcerated and released on a $20,000 bond.
