TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS – I.C.E. ARREST – REGINALD C. WASHINGTON, JR., KINTA THOMPSON
PAINCOURTVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrests of Reginald C. Washington, Jr., 33, of 608 Martin Luther King Street, Napoleonville, LA, and Kinta Thompson, 44, of 233 Daggs Street, Belle Rose, LA, on multiple felony charges arising from a traffic stop on LA 70 East on Thursday.
A uniformed patrol deputy assigned to the I.C.E. detail observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation. The deputy initiated a stop of the vehicle and made contact with the driver now identified as Reginald C. Washington, Jr. The deputy interviewed the driver and noted his driver’s license to be suspended. The deputy was aware of multiple outstanding warrants in effect for Washinton. The deputy made contact with the passenger now identified as Kinta Thompson. The deputy interviewed Thompson and at the conclusion of that interview, the deputy believed additional investigation was warranted. The deputy requested and was granted consent to search the vehicle. During the search process, quantities of schedule I and schedule II narcotics were seized as well as assorted drug paraphernalia.
Deputies conducted a protective pat down sweep of Kinta Thompson and seized schedule I and schedule II narcotics
Reginald C. Washington, Jr. was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Prohibited Acts, Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substances
*Prohibited Acts, Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substances
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
*Speeding
*Driver Under Suspension
*Failure to Appear – Assumption Parish
-Possession of Marijuana
-Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
-Improper Display of License Plate
*Failure to Appear – Assumption Parish
-Speeding
-Driving Under Suspension
*Failure to Appear – Assumption Parish
-Resisting an Officer
-Hit and Run
-Driving Under Suspension
-Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle
-Owner to Secure Registration
-Insurance Required
-Registration Violation
Reginald C. Washington, Jr. remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
Kinta Thompson was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Prohibited Acts – Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substances
*Prohibited Acts – Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substances
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Kinta Thompson remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
