TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS – I.C.E. ARREST

NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Sierra Denise Thibodeaux, 39, of 3105 Highway 308, Napoleonville, LA on multiple felony drug charges arising from a traffic stop south of Napoleonville on Wednesday afternoon.
A uniformed patrol deputy assigned to the I.C.E. detail observed a northbound vehicle on LA 1 commit a traffic violation and executed a stop of that vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver now identified as Sierra Denise Thibodeaux and engaged the driver in an officer / violator interview. At the conclusion of that interview, the deputy believed additional investigation was warranted. The deputy requested and was granted consent to search the suspect vehicle.
During a subsequent search, quantities of methamphetamine were seized. Sierra Denise Thibodeaux was arrested and transported to the Assumption Parish Detention Center for booking.
During a more intensive personal body search, correctional officers seized additional methamphetamine and a switch bladed knife.
Sierra Denise Thibodeaux was booked on charges of:
*Possession of Methamphetamine – 2 Counts
*Taking Contraband to / from a Penal Institution
*Obstruction of Justice
*Use of Certain Telecommunication Devices for Text Messaging Prohibited
*Driving Under a Suspended Driver’s License
*Following too Closely
Sierra Denise Thibodeaux remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
