TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS – I.C.E. ARREST
DARRELL LEON DOZAR
NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Darrell Leon Dozar, 38, of 1204 ½ Daspit Street, Houma, LA, on multiple felony charges arising from a traffic stop on LA 400 on Monday evening.
A uniformed patrol deputy assigned to the I.C.E. detail observed a vehicle in the area of LA 400 and Back Marais Road commit a traffic violation and executed a stop of that vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver now identified as Darrell Leon Dozar and initiated an officer / violator interview. During the interview process, the suspect driver conceded to the investigating deputy that a warrant existed for his arrest for a probation violation which was confirmed. Darrell Leon Dozar was arrested.
During a walk around of the suspect vehicle, the deputy noted a strong odor of suspected marijuana emitting from the vehicle.
The deputy requested and was granted consent to search the vehicle. During the search process, deputies seized marijuana and multiple doses of Suboxone. An additional 21 doses of Suboxone were seized from the person of Darrell Leon Dozar. Deputies also seized a quantity of methamphetamine which was attributed to Darrell Leon Dozar.
At the conclusion of the investigation, Darrell Leon Dozar was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession with Intent to Distribute Suboxone
*Possession of Methamphetamine
*Possession of Marijuana
*Obstruction of Justice
*Driving on Roadway Laned for Traffic
*Speeding – 54/30mph
*Probation / Parole Violation
Darrell Leon Dozar was ordered held without bond on the Probation / Parole Violation and awaits a bond hearing on all of the remaining charges.
