TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS – I.C.E. ARREST – RONALD JOSEPH VALLEJO, JAVONTA K. COLER
NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrests of Ronald Joseph Vallejo, 35, of 187 Violet St., Labadieville, La., and Javonta K. Coler, 32, of 211 Champion Street, Gray, La., on multiple felony charges arising from a traffic stop on LA. 308 near Napoleonville Monday evening.
A uniformed patrol deputy assigned to the I.C.E. Detail observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation and attempted a stop of that vehicle. The suspect vehicle continued on for a significant distance eventually turning into a private driveway. The passenger in the vehicle swiftly fled on foot with a large bag in his hand. The deputy pursued the suspect and observed him attempting to dump the contents of the bag on the bayou side. The suspect then jumped into the bayou attempting to swim away. The suspect then swam back to where the deputy was and was taken into custody. The passenger is now identified as Javonta K. Coler. The deputy was able to recover a portion of the substance Coler dumped which is believed to be methamphetamine.
The deputy then contacted the driver, now identified as Ronald Joseph Vallejo and he was arrested as well.
Javonta K. Coler was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine
*Obstruction of Justice
*Flight From an Officer

Javonta K. Coler remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
Ronald Joseph Vallejo was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute
*Flight From an Officer
*Driving Under a Suspended Driver’s License
*Driving on Roadway Laned for Traffic
*Detainer – Probation / Parole Violation

Ronald Joseph Vallejo remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing on the above charges and was ordered held without bond on the probation / parole violation.
