TRAFFIC STOP / DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS – I.C.E. ARREST

AMELIA – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Sandi Ann Leone Dominguez, 38, of 14029 Saint Elmo Road, Erath, LA, on felony drug charges arising from a traffic stop early Sunday near Amelia.

An I.C.E. assigned deputy observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation on U.S. 90 and initiated a stop of that vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Sandi Ann Leone Dominguez and conducted an officer / violator interview. At the conclusion of that process, the deputy concluded that additional investigation was warranted.

The deputy requested a K-9 unit to come to the location. The K-9 conducted an open-air sniff of the suspect vehicle and alerted positive to the presence of controlled dangerous substances. A search of that vehicle resulted in the seizure of heroin, methamphetamine and assorted drug paraphernalia.

Sandi Ann Leone Dominguez was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Possession of Heroin
*Possession of Methamphetamine
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
*Speeding – 85 MPH in a 70 MPH Zone

Sandi Ann Leone Dominguez remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
