TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS (I.C.E. ARREST)

PIERRE PART – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Anthony Junor Benoit on traffic and drug law violations following an I.C.E. unit stop on Sunday morning in Pierre Part.

The special unit deputy observed a vehicle near LA 70 and South Bay Road commit multiple traffic violations and initiated a stop of the vehicle.

The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Anthony Junor Benoit. During the officer / violator interview, the deputy conducted a protective pat down search of Benoit’s person and seized a quantity of meth-amphetamine.

During a search of the vehicle, drug paraphernalia was recovered.

Anthony Junor Benoit was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Possession of Meth-Amphetamine
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
*Driving Under Suspension
*Turning Signals Required
*Modified Exhaust System

Benoit remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
