TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS – I.C.E. ARRESTS
JAMIAH DERON HARRIS, LATREEC MONE YOUNG
LABADIEVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrests of Jamiah Deron Harris, 30, of 139B Violet Street, Labadieville, LA and Latreec Mone Young, 30, of 143 Violet Street, Labadieville, LA, arising from a traffic stop on LA 398 west of Labadieville.
An I.C.E. assigned deputy observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation and initiated a stop of that vehicle. Contact was made with the driver, now identified as Jamiah Deron Harris, and determined that Harris was driving under a suspended driver’s license. The deputy noted a pungent odor of suspected synthetic marijuana. The deputy interviewed Harris and while doing so noticed movement inside the vehicle. The deputy detained Harris then initiated contact with the passenger identified as Latreec Mone Young and proceeded to interview her.
At the conclusion of those interviews, the deputy requested consent to search the vehicle, which was granted. During the search, quantities of synthetic marijuana and assorted paraphernalia were seized.
Jamiah Deron Harris was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
*Obstruction of Justice
*Improper Lane Usage
*Driving Under a Suspended License
Latreec Mone Young was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Obstruction of Justice
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
*Possession of Cannabinoids / Synthetic Marijuana
Both Jamiah Deron Harris and Latreec Mone Young remain incarcerated pending bond hearings.
