TRAFFIC STOP – FUGITIVE ARREST

BAYOU L’OURSE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Curtis Paul Gaudet, Jr., 29, of 2211 Lake Palourde Road, Amelia, LA, on a fugitive warrant from the Youngsville Police Department for Domestic Abuse with Child Endangerment.
A uniformed patrol deputy assigned to the I.C.E. detail observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation near Cecelia Street in Bayou L’Ourse late Friday night.
The deputy initiated a stop of the vehicle at LA 662 and Cecelia Street. The deputy observed the vehicle pull into a driveway at the residence. The driver and the passenger exited the vehicle and ran to the rear side of the residence.
The deputy located the driver and passenger and ordered them back to the vehicle at which time contact was made with the driver now identified as Nickolas James Morris, II. After interviewing the driver, the deputy interviewed the passenger now identified as Curtis Paul Gaudet, Jr. Upon completing the interviews, the deputy conducted a criminal records check on both occupants. It was determined that Curtis Paul Gaudet, Jr. was wanted on a fugitive warrant from the Youngsville Police Department. Gaudet was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Fugitive Warrant – Youngsville Police Department – Domestic Abuse with Child Endangerment.
Curtis Paul Gaudet, Jr. remains incarcerated pending transfer to the Youngsville Police Department.
Nickolas James Morris, II was issued a citation for speeding and released.
