TRAFFIC STOP, FUGITIVE WARRANT / I.C.E. ARREST

LABADIEVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Jeffrey Andre Cosey, Jr., 27, of 5650 Sumerall Drive, Baton Rouge, LA, on a felony fugitive warrant following a traffic stop on LA 308 north of Labadieville, LA, on Tuesday evening.

A uniformed patrol deputy assigned to the I.C.E. detail observed a vehicle traveling northbound with an equipment violation. The deputy initiated a stop of that vehicle and made contact with the driver now identified as Jeffrey Andre Cosey, Jr. and engaged Cosey in an officer / violator interview. The deputy conducted a records check and determined that Cosey was wanted by the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office on warrants charging him with Failure to Appear on Drug / Gun Law Violations Probation Review.

Jeffrey Andre Cosey, Jr., was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges as follows:

*Failure to Appear in Court on July 01, 2025, in East Baton Rouge Parish for a Probation Review on Charges of:
-Distribution / Manufacture of a Schedule I Drug
-Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Drug
– Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule III Drug
` -Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule IV Drug
-Illegal Carrying of Weapons in the Presence of Controlled Dangerous Substances

Jeffrey Andre Cosey, Jr. remains incarcerated pending transfer to the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Cosey was issued a citation for Driving without Headlights.
