TRAFFIC STOP – FUGITIVE WARRANT – I.C.E. ARREST

PAINCOURTVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Ernest Jerell Williams, 29, of 10940 Williams Drive, Maringouin, LA, on felony fugitive charges following a traffic stop on LA 70 near Paincourtville, LA.

A uniformed patrol deputy assigned to the I.C.E. detail observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation and executed a stop of the vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver now identified as Ernest Jerell Williams. The deputy conducted a warrants check on Williams and determined that he was wanted by the Jennings, Louisiana Police Department on a fugitive warrant for obtaining medication by presenting a fraudulent prescription.

Ernest Jerell Williams was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Obtaining Medication by Presenting a Fraudulent Prescription
*Speeding – 81/55

Ernest Jerell Williams was issued a court date for the speeding violation and cleared for transfer to the Jennings, Louisiana Police Department.
