TRAFFIC STOP – GUN LAW VIOLATIONS – CHANCE LEE JOHNSON
ASSUMPTION – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Chance Lee Johnson, 43, of 508 Canal Street, Napoleonville, LA, arising from a suspicious vehicle parked in the driveway of a local business, south of Napoleonville.
Early Sunday morning, the deputy made contact with an individual now identified as Chance Lee Johnson. The deputy interviewed Chance Lee Johnson and inquired with the communications division and determined that Johnson had an outstanding warrant in Assumption Parish for failure to appear in court for possession of Suboxone.
A subsequent search of the suspect vehicle yielded a large caliber semi-automatic handgun.
It was determined that Chance Lee Johnson was a prior convicted felon therefore could not legally possess a firearm. It was further determined that Chance Lee Johnson was driving under a suspended driver’s license.
Chance Lee Johnson was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Driving Under a Suspended Driver’s License
*Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
*Failure to Appear – Assumption Parish, Possession of Suboxone.
Chance Lee Johnson remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
