TRAFFIC STOP – IMMIGRATIONS AND CUSTOMS WARRANT – LEONARDO HERNANDEZ
AMELIA – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest Leonardo Hernandez, 21, of 401 Triple Court, Houma, LA, on a warrant for Immigrations and Customs Enforcement following a traffic stop on U.S. 90 in Amelia on Saturday.
A special operations unit observed a vehicle on U.S. 90 commit a traffic violation and executed a stop of that vehicle.
The deputy made contact with the driver eventually identified as Leonardo Hernandez and engaged the driver in an officer / violator interview.
During the investigative stop, the deputy determined that Leonardo Hernandez was in possession of fraudulent documents including a United States social security card and a Texas driver’s license.
The deputy contacted Immigrations and Customs Enforcement and determined that Leonardo Hernandez was in the United States illegally with an order of removal in effect.
Leonardo Hernandez was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Cener on a warrant / detainer for Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Leonardo Hernandez will be released to the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement for removal from the United States.
