TRAFFIC STOP – MULTIPLE ARRESTS – FUGITIVES

PLATTENVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports multiple arrests following a traffic stop on Monday evening near Plattenville, LA.
Crystal Gayle LeBlanc, 40, of 6227 John Tullier Road, Gonzales, LA, Darrin Joseph LeBlanc, 35, of 4148 Conway Street, Sorrento, LA and Kelly Don Papineau, 38, of 39109 Vindez Road, Gonzales, LA, were all booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on various charges.
An I.C.E. Unit on assignment observed a vehicle on Highway 70 Spur commit a traffic violation and proceeded to conduct a traffic stop. Upon doing so, the deputy began to interview the driver, now identified as Kelly Don Papineau. The deputy also made contact with the two passengers namely Crystal Gayle LeBlanc and Darrin Joseph LeBlanc. At the time of the initial interviews, none on the three suspects produced any forms of identification and did in fact present fictious names to the arresting officer.
As a result of those interviews, deputies requested and were granted permission to search the vehicle, resulting in drug paraphernalia being seized.
Through a diligent effort, deputies and communications officers were able to correctly identify all three suspects and did determine they were all fugitives from various jurisdictions.
Kelly Don Papineau was charged as follows:
*No Liability Insurance
*Resisting an Officer
*Expired Motor Vehicle Inspection Tag
*Driving Under Suspension
*Fugitive – Ascension Parish (3 Counts)
Kelly Don Papineau was incarcerated pending bond proceedings.
Crystal Gayle LeBlanc was charged with:
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
*Resisting an Officer
*Outstanding Warrant – Assumption Parish – Illegal Possession of Stolen Goods
Crystal Gayle LeBlanc was incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
Darrin Joseph LeBlanc was charged with:
*Fugitive for the State of Mississippi
Darrin Joseph LeBlanc will be returned to Mississippi following extradition proceedings.
