TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS – VEHICLE PURSUIT
JAZMINE MERCEDES ROUSSEAU, TYLER SCOTT PELLERIN
NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Jazmine Mercedes Rousseau, 19, and Tyler Scott Pellerin, 19, both of 206 Jefferson Street, Napoleonville, LA, on charges arising from a traffic stop late Saturday night.
A uniformed patrol deputy observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation and proceeded to make a stop of that vehicle. The deputy initiated lights and sirens as alert for the vehicle to pullover but the vehicle fled instead reaching dangerous rates of speed and ignoring traffic signals. An oncoming deputy interceded to help bring the vehicle to a stop.
Deputies detained the driver, now identified as Jazmine Mercedes Rousseau and two other passengers. During a search of the vehicle, drug paraphernalia was seized which was attributed to the driver and one passenger, Tyler Scott Pellerin.
Jazmine Mercedes Rousseau was arrested and brought to the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession or Distribution of Drug Paraphernalia / Unmarried Persons under 17 Years of Age (1st Offense)
*Cruelty to Juveniles
*No Passing Zones
*Traffic Control Signals
*Maximum Speed Limit
*Headlamps for Motor Vehicles and Motorcycles
*Aggravated Flight from an Officer (Felony)
*Operating Vehicle with a Suspended License; Other Offenses
Jazmine Mercedes Rousseau remains incarcerated with bond set at $180,000.
Tyler Scott Pellerin was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on a charge of:
*Possession or Distribution of Drug Paraphernalia
Pellerin was later release.
