Sheriff Leland Falcon announces that the Police Jury has set Trick or Treat in Assumption Parish for this evening, (October 31, 2019) between the hours of 6 p.m.– 8 p.m.
Sheriff Falcon offers some tips for exercising a safe Halloween event.
-Identify and designate areas and homes which are deemed safe for trick or treaters.
-All areas frequented should be lighted.
-Don’t let children trick or treat alone.
-Inspect all candy before allowing kids to eat.
-Be able to recognize and identify the candy you distribute.
-Wear reflective clothing.
-Try to refrain from walking on heavily trafficked vehicle routes.
Remember, sex offenders are prohibited from participating in Trick or Treat festivities.
Sex offenders are prohibited from having their lights on at their home during Trick or Treat.
