UNAUTHORIZED USE OF A MOVEABLE
MATHERNE J. JOHNSON, JR.

PAINCOURTVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Matherne J. Johnson, Jr., 66, of 1351 McGinnis Street, Donaldsonville, LA, on felony charges arising from a trespassing complaint near Paincourtville on Monday afternoon.

Deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 6300 Block of LA 1 near Paincourtville in reference to an individual now identified as Matherne J. Johnson, Jr., being the subject of a trespassing complaint.

Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the complainant who advised that on this day, Matherne J. Johnson, Jr. went to the residence and without permission, stole a set of car keys. Matherne J. Johnson, Jr. allegedly used those keys to access an automobile and drove off. At the time, Matherne J. Johnson, Jr. did not have permission to take the automobile.

At the conclusion of the investigation, deputies obtained an arrest warrant for Matherne J. Johnson, Jr. Deputies arrested Johnson near Napoleonville.

Matherne J. Johnson, Jr. was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

Johnson remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
