OFF ROAD VEHICLE ON ROADWAY, AGGRAVATED FLIGHT

PAINCOURTVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Juan Anthony Flemming, Jr. 19, of 1376 Old Vacherie St., Vacherie, LA, on felony charges arising from and incident near Paincourtville on Saturday afternoon.

Deputies working an event amidst a large crowd observed an individual driving an off-road vehicle upon a public roadway in a reckless manner and attempted to stop the suspect driver. The suspect attempted to flee from deputies. The deputies pursued the suspect onto LA 70 Spur at which time the suspect forced vehicles off the roadway. The subject then reversed direction heading east on LA Spur. The suspect driver then entered the nearby cane fields. The suspect was eventually caught and arrested.

The suspect, now identified as Juan Anthony Flemming, Jr. was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Aggravated Flight from an Officer
*Unauthorized Use of an Off Road Vehicle on a Public Roadway

Juan Anthony Flemming was released after posting a $50,000 bond.
