COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
SENIOR CITIZEN PROGRAMS
ELDERLY ID PROGRAM
Participants in this program are provided with a special identification card containing their photograph and identifying information.
TRIAD PROGRAM
The Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with the Assumption Parish District Attorney’s Office and the Council on Aging and the American Association of Retired Person (AARP), provide enhanced services to the parish’s senior citizens.
SENIOR CITIZEN REGISTRATION PROGRAM
The program will target two main concerns but will be open to other senior citizen issues that may arise. A registration card was designed that, once submitted by seniors or family, will be stored in the Sheriff’s Office computer database. Registration provides emergency contact information. In the event an incident is reported, the Sheriff’s Office will be able to direct emergency resources to that person in a quicker and more effective manner. The Sheriff’s Office will also conduct welfare checks of senior citizens who opt to register. The identification / registration cards will be available at all Sheriff’s Office substations and the main office, as well as Council on Aging offices.
