CRUELTY TO THE INFIRMED – JARED MICHAEL BLANCHARD

PIERRE PART – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Jared Michael Blanchard, 22, of 134 Belle River Road, Pierre Part, LA, on charges related to a Tuesday evening incident in Belle River.

Deputies were dispatched to the area and upon arrival, interviewed witnesses as well as the victim.

The accused, now identified as Jared Blanchard, had left the area.

As a result of the deputy’s investigation, it was determined that Jared Michael Blanchard had initiated contact with the victim who was riding a golf cart. Sometimes later at a different location, the suspect confronted the victim and repeatedly struck him in the facial areas with a closed fist causing some noticeable injuries to the victim.

Based on all information and evidence collected, deputies arrested Jared Michael Blanchard a short time later and booked him into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on a count of:

*Cruelty to the Infirmed – Felony

The victim in this matter is a special needs adult with a significant disability.

Jared Michael Blanchard remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
