LABADIEVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrests of Kimberly Blanchard, 33, of 33354 Highway 1 North, Donaldsonville, LA and Shaquendes Desira, 26, of 1200 Maginnis Street, Donaldsonville, LA, on felony theft charges on Tuesday, related to the theft of a large amount of U.S. currency from a local video poker / truck stop establishment.
On September 24, 2019, the Assumption Parish Detective Division received a complaint from business comptrollers regarding the theft of thousands of dollars from the casino by the casino manager and assistant manager.
Detectives responded and began their investigation at which time it was learned that Kimberly Blanchard, manager of the establishment and Shaquendes Desira, assistant manager, were suspected of stealing a combined amount of cash totaling between $5,000 and $25,000 over a period of time by means of fraudulent conduct related to their employment. Both Blanchard and Desira were brought in for investigative interviews and admitted to their participation. Both Kimberly Blanchard and Shaquendes Desira were booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Felony Theft Between $5,000 and $25,000
Both have been released and each have posted a $15,000 bond.
