FLOOD DEFENSE – 2021
PIERRE PART – On Saturday, Assumption Parish Detention Facility inmates prepared over 14,000 sand bags and all were distributed to property owners for use in defending current flood waters.
On Friday, Sheriff Leland Falcon purchased another sandbagging machine in order to meet the needs for the current flood disaster. The Sheriff purchased the first sandbagger a year ago.
Sheriff Falcon wants to again thank the following for their assistance in fending off the 2021 flood:
*All individuals from the public who assisted in any manner to this year’s flood event
*The Assumption Parish Police Jury
*The Assumption Parish School System for use of their facilities
*The Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office
We will continue to monitor the current flood situation and appropriate necessary resources as needed.
