ILLEGAL DISCHARGE OF A WEAPON – LEVI QUINTON JONES
NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Levi Quinton Jones, 39, of 607 Franklin St., Napoleonville, LA, on felony gun charges arising from a complaint in Napoleonville late Tuesday.
Deputies were dispatched to the area of St. Mary and Franklin Street in connection with an individual walking in the area who was bleeding and had a gun in his possession. A second call came into dispatch indicating the individual had fired the gun.
Deputies made contact with the complainant who provided additional information to deputies including last known location. Deputies located the individual, now identified as Levi Quinton Jones. Jones acknowledged shooting a gun. Deputies attempted to detain Jones and were met with resistance. Levi Quinton Jones was eventually detained.
At the conclusion of the investigation, deputies determined that several individuals were gathered when Levi Quinton Jones and Corey Packer engaged in a fight. At some point, Jones retrieved a firearm.
Based on all available information, deputies issued a summons to Corey Packer, 52, of 504 Owens St., Napoleonville, LA for Disturbing the Peace by Fighting and he was released.
Levi Quinton Jones was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
• Disturbing the Peace by Fighting
• Resisting an Officer (2 counts)
• Illegal Use of Weapons or Dangerous Instrumentalities
Levi Quinton Jones remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
