NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon is advising residents of an old SCAM that is making its presence again in Assumption Parish.

Residents are receiving telephone calls from individuals identifying themselves as representatives of religious denominations and requesting that gift cards be sent to persons suffering medical or personal hardships.

If you receive calls of a similar nature, please do not send money or gift cards until you have made contact with the leader of your religious organization and are able to verify the call to be legitimate.

You are urged to file a complaint by calling (985) 369-2912 if you received such a call.
