NAPOLEONVILLE –Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon is cautioning residents of the ongoing SCAM in which unknown callers are contacting residents representing themselves to be from Social Security.

The caller goes on to advise that there is fraudulent activity associated with your account and you are required to contact a number.

If you contact that number, you will be asked questions concerning personal information and you may be asked to provide some form of payment.

Sheriff Falcon urges everyone to disregard these calls. They are fraudulent and the ultimate goal of the caller is to steal your identity and your money.

Finally, never provide any personal information to any sources that you do not know.
