SHOOTING INCIDENT ARREST – ANDREW SINGLETON
NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Andrew Singleton, 29, of 2206, St. Anthony Street, New Orleans, LA, on felony charges related to an April 6, 2019, shooting incident in Napoleonville, LA.
On the aforementioned date, deputies were dispatched to a lounge in Napoleonville in connection with a disturbance. Once on scene, deputies encountered a large crowd in and around the area. During that process, deputies heard a number of suspected gunshots coming from the Jefferson Street and LA 1 areas.
Officers responded and were directed to a male victim inside of a convenience store with a gunshot wound to the buttocks area. Medical personnel arrived and assessed the victim and then transported him to a local hospital.
A second victim, a female was located on Jefferson Street and had received a superficial flesh wound.
Detectives responded and initiated an investigation. During that investigation, Andrew Singleton was identified as the shooting suspect. Detectives filed warrants of arrest against Singleton and entered those warrants into the computer data base.
Andrew Singleton was arrested by the U.S. Marshall’s Office in Orleans Parish Tuesday. Singleton was transferred to Assumption Parish late Tuesday and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Attempted Second Degree Murder (2 Counts)
*Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property
*Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
During the interview process with detectives, Singleton acknowledged the participation in the crime. Andrew Singleton remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
