SUSPICIOUS PERSON – CALVIN NELSON, JR.
NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Calvin Nelson, Jr., 36, of 6015 Grant Road, Paincourtville, LA, on felony charges arising out of a suspicious person complaint near LA. 1 and LA. 402 north of Napoleonville.
On Friday evening, deputies were dispatched to the area in reference to an individual attempting to flag vehicles down and open their doors.
Deputies located the subject and noted him to be irrational, confused and incoherent. During the officer / subject interview, the investigating deputy elected to conduct a protective pat down search due to safety considerations. During the pat down search, the deputy located a number of used small packets consistent with illegal drug use.
The subject, now identified as Calvin Nelson, Jr. was placed under arrest for disturbing the peace by intoxication.
Once at the detention facility, corrections officers located meth-amphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Calvin Nelson, Jr. was booked on charges of:
*Possession of Meth-Amphetamine
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
*Taking Contraband to/from a Penal Institution
*Disturbing the Peace by Intoxication
Calvin Nelson, Jr. remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
