BAYOU L’OURSE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Debra Vian Harman, 58, of 238 Jamie Court, Bayou L’Ourse, LA, on felony theft charges late Thursday afternoon.
On September 30, 2019, deputies were dispatched to a retail business establishment in Bayou L’Ourse in connection with a theft.
Upon arrival, deputies interviewed loss prevention personnel who indicated that Debra Vian Harman had stolen a substantial amount of U.S. currency from the business.
On September 20, 2019, management was notified by the corporate office that two large deposits totaling $4,619.53 had not been banked.
Video surveillance assisted in determining that Harman had not deposited the funds and surveillance detected Harman removing money from the safe and putting it into her purse.
Based on all facts considered, Debra Vian Harman was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Felony Theft
Harman was incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
