TRAFFIC – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS
VIRGIS M. METREJEAN
PAINCOURTVILLE– Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Virgis M. Metrejean, 56, of 316, South Bay Road, Pierre Part, LA following a traffic stop on LA 70 west of Paincourtville, LA.
A uniformed patrol deputy on assignment observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation on LA 70 west and executed a stop of the vehicle.
The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Virgis M. Metrejean. The deputy noted Metrejean’s actions to be consistent with that of a known drug violator.
At some point, a K-9 conducted an open-air sniff and alerted to specific areas of the vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded an assortment of drugs and drug paraphernalia. Virgis M. Metrjean was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Driving Under Suspension
*Driving on Roadway Laned for Traffic
*Sale Distribution or Possession of a Legend Drug without a Prescription
*Possession of Hydrocodone
*Possession of Ambien
*Possession of Xanax
*Possession with Intent to Distribute Suboxone
*Possession of Meth Amphetamine
*Flight from an Officer
Bond for Metrjean has been set for $40,000.
