TRAFFIC INCIDENT – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS

SHEREE FOURNET LEAL – I.C.E. ARREST

BAYOU L’OURSE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Sheree Fournet Leal, 49, of 127 Willow Dr., Gretna, LA, on felony drug charges arising from a traffic stop early Thursday morning on U.S. 90 near Bayou L’Ourse, LA.

A uniformed patrol deputy assigned to the I.C.E. Unit observed a west bound vehicle commit multiple traffic violations and initiated a stop of that vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Sheree Fournet Leal and engaged Leal in an officer / violator interview. During the interview process, the deputy noted signs consistent with illegal activity and at some point, attempted to detain Sheree Fournet Leal. This individual put up some resistance but was eventually detained.

During a protective pat down search, deputies seized a quantity of suspected cocaine.

Sheree Fournet Leal was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute
*Resisting an Officer
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
*Turning Movements and Required Signals
*Failure to Drive on the Right Side of the Road

Sheree Fournet Leal remains incarcerated with bond set at $26,000.
