TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW VIOLATION – I.C.E. ARREST
MICHAEL P. LOVELL, ANGEL STRICTLAND REEVES
BAYOU L’OURSE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrests of Michael P. Lovell, 56, of 190 Stacy Street, Bayou L’Ourse, LA and Angel Strictland Reeves, 31, of 114 Honey Lane, Bayou L’Ourse, LA, on felony drug charges arising from a traffic stop on Highway 182 in Bayou L’Ourse on Friday evening.
A uniformed patrol deputy assigned to the I.C.E. detail observed a vehicle with an equipment violation and initiated a stop of that vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver now identified as Michael P. Lovell and conducted an officer / violator interview. The deputy then made contact with the passenger and upon doing so observed the passenger attempting to conceal an unknown item under her clothing.
The deputy then detained the passenger, now identified as Angel Strictland Reeves.
At the conclusion of the interview, the deputy believed that additional investigation was warranted. The deputy requested and was granted consent to search the suspect vehicle. During the search process, deputies seized a quantity of methamphetamine.
Michael P. Lovell was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of Methamphetamine
*Driving on Roadway Laned for Traffic
*Brake Equipment Required (Functioning)
Angel Strictland Reeves was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of Methamphetamine
Micheal P. Lovell was incarcerated and released on a $5,000 commercial bond and Angel Strictland Reeves remains incarcerated on a $5,000 bond.
