TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS

BELLE ROSE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Freddie Earl Allen, Jr., 37, of 706 Railroad Avenue, Donaldsonville, LA, on felony drug law charges arising from a traffic stop on LA 1 south of Belle Rose early Wednesday evening.
A uniformed patrol deputy observed a vehicle in the area of LA 1 and Peterville Lane commit a traffic violation and initiated a stop of that vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Freddie Earl Allen, Jr. and engaged Allen in an officer / violator interview.
The deputy noted a pungent odor of suspected marijuana emitting from the vehicle. While interviewing the suspect, he acknowledged that he had a quantity of marijuana and methamphetamine in his possession. A search of Allen’s vehicle resulted in the seizure of additional methamphetamine.
Freddie Earl Allen, Jr. was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of Marijuana
*Possession of Methamphetamine
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
*Second or Subsequent Offense – Felony
*Turning Movements and Required Signals
Freddie Earl Allen, Jr. remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
