TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS
KASHOD A. JOHNSON, CURTISHA LYN LAGARDE
PAINCOURTVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Kashod A. Johnson, 33, of 3732 Highway 1, Napoleonville, LA, on multiple felony charges arising from a traffic stop on LA 70 west of Paincourtville on Monday evening.
A narcotics officer observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation and conducted a stop of that vehicle. The narcotics officer made contact with the driver now identified as Curtisha Lyn Lagarde and engaged the driver in an officer / violator interview. The narcotics officer noted the presence of two young children in the rear seat not restrained properly. The narcotics officer further noted a faint odor of suspected marijuana.
The narcotics officer proceeded to interview the passenger now identified as Kashod A. Johnson. At the conclusion of that interview, the narcotics officer believed additional investigation was warranted. The narcotics officer requested and was granted consent to search the vehicle. During the search process, the narcotics officer seized quantities of MDMA (Ecstasy), marijuana bi-products, and a firearm. The seized items were attributed to Kashod A. Johnson.
Agents arrested Kashod A. Johnson and booked him into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of MDMA (Ecstasy)
*Possession of Cannabinoids (Synthetic Marijuana)
*Illegal Carrying of Weapons in the Presence of Controlled Dangerous Substances
*Illegal Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substances in the Presence of Persons Under the Age of 17
*Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
Kashod A. Johnson remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
The driver, Curtisha Lyn Lagarde was cited for:
*Careless Operation
*Child Restraint Violations
Curtisha Lyn Lagarde was issued a court date and released.
