WARRANT – AGGRAVATED FLIGHT – DERREIL LAMONT ALEXANDER
NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Derreil Lamont Alexander, 44, of 315 Grace Street, Houma, LA, on a warrant charging him with felony and misdemeanor offenses arising from a traffic incident that occurred on or about July 24, 2020 on LA 182 East near Amelia.
An I.C.E. assigned deputy observed an eastbound vehicle commit a traffic violation.
The deputy attempted to stop the vehicle, but the suspect increased his speed, engaging the deputy into a high-speed pursuit. The deputy continued the pursuit into Terrebonne Parish where the suspect ditched the vehicle and fled on foot. The deputy’s follow-up investigation was able to identify the suspect as Derreil Lamont Alexander. Deputies confirmed that Derreil Lamont Alexander was wanted for armed robbery in the State of Mississippi.
Deputies applied for and were granted arrest warrants for Alexander. Shortly thereafter, Derreil Lamont Alexander was subsequently arrested and convicted of crimes in Mississippi.
Derreil Lamont Alexander completed his Mississippi sentence and was released to the custody of the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office on August 10, 2023. Alexander was transported and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Aggravated Flight from an Officer
*Resisting an Officer
*Driving on Roadway Laned for Traffic
*Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle
*Turning Movements and Signals Required
*Speeding
*Registration Violation
Derreil Lamont Alexander remains incarcerated with bond set at $15,000.
