AGGRAVATED ASSAULT WITH A FIREARM

PAINCOURTVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Harold J. Theriot, 83, of 6356 Highway 1, Belle Rose, LA, on felony firearms assault charges arising from a disturbance near Paincourtville, LA on Monday.

Deputies were dispatched to the 6300 block of LA 1 in connection to a dispute amongst neighbors. Upon arrival, the complainant advised that the neighbor pointed a gun at her and her dog during a dispute.
Deputies interviewed Harold J. Theriot and believed that probable cause existed to execute an arrest.

Deputies did take Harold J. Theriot into custody and did seize a firearm believed to have been brandished during the incident.

Harold J. Theriot was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on a charge of:

*Aggravated Assault with a Firearm

Harold J. Theriot remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
