DISTURBANCE – SHOTS FIRED – TRANISE CHANTELL MAJOR
PIERRE PART – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Tranise Chantell Major, 30, of 260 Triple Oaks, Raceland, LA, on felony charges arising from an incident in the 2600 block of LA 1 in Labadieville late Saturday evening.
Deputies were dispatched to the area in reference to a disturbance at a private event. Prior to arrival, deputies were advised that a female, now identified as Tranise Chantell Major had caused a disturbance at the event, left in a vehicle and traveled a short distance then fired several shots from a handgun. Deputies eventually made contact with Tranise Chantell Major a short distance away.
During the course of the investigation, deputies seized a handgun believed to be related to the incident.
At the conclusion of the investigation, Tranise Chantell Major was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Aggravated Assault with a Firearm
*Illegal use of Weapons or Dangerous Instrumentalities
Tranise Chantell Major remains incarcerated with bond set at $50,000.
