DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS, OPERATION “TAKE A RIDE” – ANTHONY T. ARTEA, II
LABADIEVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Anthony T. Artea, II, 42, of 1749 Renee Dr., Hurst, TX, on a felony drug warrant dating November 10, 2020, arising out of Operation “Take a Ride.”
Assumption Parish Sheriff’s deputies conducted a parish wide investigation targeting illegal drug dealers. Artea at the time of the operation was residing within the Bayou L’Ourse community located in Assumption Parish.
As a result of that investigation, deputies established probable cause to believe that Anthony T. Artea, II was in fact distributing illegal drugs in Assumption Parish thus resulting in the issuance of the November 10, 2020, warrant. Prior to being taken into custody, Artea fled the area.
On March 14, 2022, Anthony T. Artea, II was arrested in Ascension Parish and transported to Assumption Parish to satisfy the felony warrant secured through the Operation “Take a Ride” investigation.
Anthony T. Artea, II was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Distribution of Hydrocodone
*Distribution of Marijuana (Felony)
Anthony T. Artea, II remains incarcerated with a bond set at $20,000.
